Hi,

Just installed 3.4 on my slave HD and all is working fine.

Was wondering tho, why now do I have 4 options at boot menu instead of 2?
I now have in this order:

Linux
Linux(2.4)-1 **What is this option about?**
Linux(2.6)-2 **What is this option about?**
WinXP/2k(hda1)

If I wanted to boot 3.4 which one do i choose?

With 3.3 I only had 2 options - Linux(hdb1) and Win2k(hda1).

Cheers - the new person.

some clarification of terminology. KNOPPIX 3.4 is a distribution which includes two linux kernel(2.4 and 2.6) + Klau's selection of applications and stuff.

So both entry 2 and 3 are KNOPPIX 3.4, the first one I believe is the previous leftover(3.3?). This is very different from Windows. There usually is only one ME/XP/W2K etc., though it is also possible to install multiple copy of XP to different directories/partitions and it would be quite similar to what you see here.

So just pick item (2) or (3) for your 3.4 release. When you are familiar with linux, you may have even more things like you may want to compile your own kernel but the applications mix(which is what 3.4 is about) won't change. Most likely they share the same partition.

Latest update...

Curiosity got the better of me so I formatted my slave drive and created a new MBR.

The end result is still 4 choices as above. The first threee all boot into 3.4

I found tho, that the second and third options allow for net connection but NO lan connection...

The first option allows both.
