Internet connectivity

I am unble to establish internet connection using kppp dialer.The message displayed is "the modem is busy".I also tried resetting the modem.I am using 3.3

I dunno why people use kppp.

Try this:

run

pppconfig

fill in the details for your isp.

Add yourself (use kuser if you like) to the dialout and dip groups. (If you're running off CD no need to do this)

to connect to the internet run

pon

to disconnect run

poff

As per your suggestion i tried with pppconfig by opening a konsole window in kde.When i used the pon command i was told that i must operate as a root.well. I tried with cd install again with knoppix single.well still i am unable to connect.

Internal, external?
Winmodem?
Manufactor?
