I installed Knoppix to the HD using the guide here.

When i try and boot into Knoppix or Windows from the start up screen, i get the hal.dll is missing or corrupt error.
I tried pretty much everything i found that said to fix it but nothing worked.
Booting into the recovery console just gives me D:\WINDOWS for installs, when i run windows off of F.

I have 2 HD's, one is a single partition C with a copy of XP i dont boot from.
The other is F with a 127 gig partition with Windows, H the swap, I for Linux, and J for the rest of storage thats pretty much empty right now.

Also CHKDSK on F: says it has an unrecoverable error without even starting, but i can access all my files fine through booting from a floppy disk into knoppix HD install.

So any help here? Im sure i rambled plenty, but need some help =/.

You might want to try the suggestion at this site : http://www.compphix.com/corrupthal.html
This should get you to be able to boot into Windows.
