knoppix doesnt mount my dvd rom

I boot from my cd-rom
but the dvd-rom doesnt mount
any help apreciated

ok update

I used a 1/22/2003 version of knoppix and now the dvd drive works
but the players do noy play dvd :(

The only way to get Knoppix (or any linux distro that I know of) to play dvds is to download and install the decss stuff. This isn't pacaged by default because of concerns of being prosecuted by laws like the DMCA. To get knoppix to play DVD's you need to install it on a hard drive then you can follow the directions here (http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/FaqUsing)
