With vnc and the inetd-setup as described on http://www.sourcecodecorner.com/articles/vnc/linux.asp, knoppix has the unix variant of terminal-services.

Get a vncviewer for your desktop and point it to knoppix:52 and you have your X-login session.

btw: can the available vnc be upgraded to the current one (now at http://www.realvnc.com)

Can you do this with an HDD install? BTW,How do you start vnc?

Also, is the link to that article correct? The link seems to go to nowhere...

TIA,

I'd like to see a pre-configged teminal server CD. Already setup to be a DHCP server and run termnial services for PXE-booting clients. You'd just have to run the install script. Then some modular images for the clients to use for different things like folding@home, seti@home, distcc, etc.

Does anybody know a good X proxy that can be used for WinXP-like quick user switching? I think it can be done using the VNC approach, but uhm don't think video, 3D, etc. will come thrue very nice.
