Hi all,
Im a complete noob with linux and just trying to familiarise myself with it.
Ive been playing around with knoppix for a few days now and decided i want to do a Harddisk install. Im using a 40g drive partitioned 3 ways 1st partition is the intended knoppix partition and around 8gig(fat32) 2nd partition is 2gig intended swap(fat32), the rest is nfts and has data on it. From knoppix cd boot ive gone to partition properties to allow read and write of drive but keep having disk is read only type errors. Im using knoppix v3.4 2004-05-10. Any help for this noob would be much appreciated. :-)
Regards Siom

have you tried the scripts?
either

sudo knoppix-installer
or a little less able (but stable).

sudo knx-hdinstall

Thanks for your time replying OErjan,
yes i have used 'Knoppix-installer', As i understand 'knx-hdinstall' is not a valid command in V3.4., either way readonly errors occur.
Perhaps the Harddrive itself?
Or configuration within knoppix?

Siom, make sure you choose Beginner or Debian option on the installer, because if you choose Knoppix you will get a read only system, just like the cd.
