I have a few pcs which are used as internet access pc's in the cafe at work. I have recently got some more 2nd hand. They are fujitsu-scenic 860's. They work fine with 3.3 but when I try to boot 3.4 with them they stop at "Looking for CDROM in: /dev/scd0" it will sit there for a while then return "Can't find KNOPPIX filesystem, sorry. Dropping you to a (very limited) shell. Press reset button to quit."

These pc's can also boot slax, morphix, freeduc, feather & dsl with out any problems.

Any ideas?

That worked a treat - Thanks!

Is there any way to get the cd to boot that way by default?

Is there any way to get the cd to boot that way by default?

You might want to look at a neat utility called XOSL (eXtended Operating System Loader). XOSL has the ability to boot from a variety of devices and partitions and it can also feed the booting program keystrokes as it boots. So (and this is just theory, I haven't done it with Knoppix although I use it for other similar things) you might be able to let XOSL boot the CD and then feed it the magic cheat codes that you want.

Please post back any results, good or bad.

Here's a link to get you started:
