Dear Sirs,
today I dist-upgraded my knoppix HD Installation (was 3.4 10/05/2004).
After that a very bad was happens. At the boot time I get the message :
{error while loading shared libraries: libpci.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory}

As result to the above the hwsetup doent work (even my NIC card stopped to regognized at boot time and I have to type modprobe 8139too e.t.c.)

Does anybody know how to solve my nasty problem.

Thanks in advanced

Mike Kranidis

****** UPDATE *******
Meking a little googling... fount the follow:
pciutils (1:2.1.11-11) unstable; urgency=low

* Revert to just the pciutils and pciutils-dev packages (no changes to
base system allowed currently), hence replaces: libpci2 (closes:
#244583, #241360, #225512)
* Fix warning on lack of sysfs support on 2.4 kernels (closes: #242239,
#244249, #242892)
* Conflicts on packages that need the old output of lspci, or the old
libpci.so.1, namely hardinfo, kudzu and sndconfig.
* Updated pci.ids
So it is ociutils problem because they stopped to support programs like kudzu that knoppix use it. Please in order not to break your system auto-hardware detection don't dist-upgrade untill the problem solved...
