WPC11 V4 and IBM Think Pad

I have a IBM Think Pad T20 and a linksys WPC11 V4. I have downloaded Knoppix 3.3 and now Knoppix 3.4 and after booting up I go to wlcardconfig and I get the message No wireless Network card found. The wireless card works ok on XP. I have read countless posts and tried numerous things all without any luck. I would appreciate any help.
