OK, followed the instructions elsewhere in the forum, and was able to get my Firewire drive recognized by Knoppix (yay!)

However, the same instructions said to edit the file /etc/devices/drivers to get the Firewire drive recognized and loaded in the future. Said file doesn't seem to exist when running the 2.6 kernel. I "assume" there is an equivalent step for 2.6?

Thanks in advance,
Ewan

A little update on this. Following the outlined procedure got two of my four firewire drives recognized. Which then proceeded to invalidate the RAID superblock on the other two drives (because they were now out of sync), and required me to spend a bit of time (about 20 hours) recovering my RAID array under a different version of Linux.

Is there anyone who is using multiple firewire drives attached directly to a controller (or to each other in a pass-through) successfully with Knoppix using the 2.6 kernel? If not, any suggestions folks can make?

Thanks,
Ewan
