Knoppix 3.4 video modes problems!!

I've just burned Knoppix 3.4 and I get the message
You have passed an undefined mode number. Press <RETURN> to see video modes available, <SPACE> to continue or wait 30 secs
I've tried 'scan' and choosing all the options, but all I get are wavy lines on my screen like the size is wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried a different monitor and Knoppix 3.4 popped up fine.

Try with some cheatcodes (http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/CheatCodes) if you want your old monitor back.
For the "undefined mode number" try adding vga=normal.
Depending on your graphic card/chipset, add xmodule=ati|radeon|fbdev|vesa|savage|s3|nv|i810|mg a|svga|tseng (choose one).
