hi,
im thinking of changing to linux because im tired of windows, and i`ve tried the knoppix live cd v3.4 before installing any distro on my HD.

my problem is: i can only use the frame buffer of 800x600 and any resolution beside that one,the screen appers fuzzy.
I`ve tryed out the cheat code "knoppix vga=normal screen=1024x768 vsync=20 hsync=15.5 noddc" and it shows a error message "the video card is not supported..".
my video card is a nVidia GeForce Go488 64Mb DDR and my lcd is a TFT 15'' XGA (1024x768).
can this problem be solved with a HD install?or with outher distro?
PLEASE HELP ME!

my laptop is a Tsunami, a P4 3.06, 512Mb RAM on a SiS motherboard and chipset and with a Phoenix BIOS.
