Saving the configuration

Apparently I am misunderstanding something. There appears to be a procedure to save various configured settings on a floppy disk -- but I run this, it makes files, and on restarting (from the CD with "knoppix MyConfig=scan"), nothing has been saved. Or at least, I find it necessary to enter all the various network card settings and so on.

What am I missing? Does this not recall all the various changes?

If you want to save your changes on floppy, open a terminal and type: 'saveconfig'. Follow instructions and put a floppy in your drive. At the next cd boot type in the bootscreen: 'knoppix floppyconfig'. Knoppix will boot with your last saved configuration.
