Root Password In Knoppix Live

I have a 3.1 version of the knoppix live cd, ( Running from the CD not HD installed ) which I have been using. I wanted to have a play and change a few aspects, as part of my learning curve, but was prompted for the root password, What is it ?

I have never set a password, it appears to be a system set password, I would be gratefull if anyone can help me on this

You create your own. Open a terminal window (click the black monitor screen on the bottom toolbar), and type 'sudo passwd' (without quotes) at the command prompt. Enter your desired root password twice, close the window, and it's set until you shut down.
