hey i just hooked up my Dell 1801FP monitor and tried to run knoppix off cd but X won't start. I know everything is working fine i can here the "initiating startup sequence" i think i need to change the resolution and Refresh rate but i don't know how. Help !

Try booting w/ the failsafe cheatcode. If your monitor is anything like other Dell hardware (can you say buggy?) it might take some tweaking to get working right. You can also try vga=normal
