hi!
i've installed knoppix 3.4 (kerneldate Apr 17 2004) on my notebook. there is a intel 2100 3b mini pci card inside and it works great with the driver of current knoppix version.

i want to install the newest ver. of the driver now, cause with it, it should be possible to bring the card into monitor mode.

i've downloaded the driver and extracded it successfully. next step, i've used "make", but all i've got is the following error:

################################################## ####
root@lifebook-linux:/driver/ipw2100-0.46_3# make
make -C /lib/modules/2.4.26/build SUBDIRS=/driver/ipw2100-0.46_3 MODVERDIR=/driver/ipw2100-0.46_3 modules
make[1]: goto directory »/usr/src/linux-2.4.26«
make[1]: *** no rule to create »modules«. end.
make[1]: leaving directory »/usr/src/linux-2.4.26«
make: *** [modules] error 2
################################################## ####
(i've installed a german version of knoppix, so the errormessage isn't possibly in a correct phrase ;) )

i also tried to create the modules directory, but then only the error will change to "there is nothing to do for »modules«"

it's my first time using linux and i'm really disposed to learn more about, but at this problem i've no idea what to do.

best regards
