I'm trying to run Knoppix on an old emachine but it keeps hanging at the same point in the startup. I have to unplug/plugin the machine to get it to reboot. Here's what its spitting out:

Welcome to the KNOPPIX live Linux-on-CD!

Scanning for USB/Firewire devices... Done.
Enabling DMA acceleration for: hda [Maxtor 52049H4]
Enabling DMA acceleration for: hdc [SAMSUNG SLR-3232]
Accessing KNOPPIX CDROM at /dev/scd0...
Total memory found: 191168kB
Creating /ramdisk (dynamic size=147232k) on shared memory... Done.
Creating directories and symlinks on ramdisk... Done.
Starting init process.
INIT: version 2.78-knoppix booting
Running LInux kernal 2.4.26
Processor 0 is M II 2.5x Core/Bus Clock 250MHz

This is where it hangs up.. the cursor stops blinking and i cant do anything. The cd works fine on all my other computers. Any ideas? Thx

Just to bring similar threads together in the hope that someone knowledgeable will notice there is a problem with 3.4, see this post regarding 3 machines that will not boot 3.4 disks that will boot other machines.
