What is fstab?

A) A lively Portugese dish served w/ cockroaches & lentils.

B) The first Russian car.

C) The configuration file that contains static information about the filesystems.

Personally, I think it refers to a crime involving a knife and the sixth letter of the alphabet. A few people say it stands for file system table (http://www.tldp.org/LDP/gs/node6.html#SECTION00641000000000000000), but those are mostly just Linux geeks, and you know how crazy they are.
