How do you edit lilo?

I tried kdesu kedit lilo.conf and get error message command kedit not found and Mutex Destroy Failure: Device or resource failure.

How do I look at the file and edit it?

Try kwrite instead of kedit

You will also have the specify the path:
kdesu kwrite /etc/lilo.conf
Kate is actually a better editor than Kwrite. I have a desktop icon 'RootKate' which starts Kate 'run as a different user' (root) for editing config files.
