How do I get superuser privileges for Guarddog for Knoppix 3.4 on CD, Kernel 2.4.26

Live CD? If it is anything like 3.3, just opening a console and then typing sudo guarddog should bring up the gui as root and you will be able to configure. But I think you will have to do it every session, not sure it can be retained using home on disk, someone here please advise. Then again I didn't use CD for long, liked it and dove in with a hd install :)
