OK, i have already got knoppix on a CD and such and now I am having trouble booting from it. When i boot from it, i pass all the checks and such, but then after that, the screen just goes blank. The screen would look the same if i turned off the monitor.

I think it is my compaq computer. I've heard that Compaq computers have trouble booting duel OS

What happens when you press CTRL-ALT-F1 ? Does it then again display the text-console?

after this screen finishes, http://www.knoppix.net/images/knx_configure.png then nothing appears, it is just a blank screen

Try using the failsafe option when booting and see if it brings you all the way through the boot proces.

Booting a CD doesn't qualify as a 'dual-boot' system. A dual-boot system is one that is capable of booting 2 different OS installations from hard drive(s).

Disable APM & PnP in your BIOS.

What kind of mouse do you have?
