Does Lyx really exist on the cd version?

Hi all

I'm in the process of migration from Windoze and am new to Linux systems - please be gentle!

I have the CD version and it all loads nicely. I also see that Lyx 1.3.4 is shipped with the CD. :)

I currently use Lyx (windoze port) and thought I'd check out the version on Knoppix.

How is another matter!!

1. I cannot find how to start Lyx - although many files appear present :(
2. No Latex anywhere to be seen- :(
3. Lyx without Latex = Bycicle without wheels:!:

Whats going on?

LyX was included in 3.3 but was then unfortunately removed in 3.4. Maybe you can get a 3.3 version somewhere.
