Can not login as a regular user....forced to use ROOT

After installing knoppix to the hd I can only login as root. When I try to login as my user account i get 3 different errors about 5 times each untill it tries to boot up some server kms server I think and it gives me an error there and just goes back to the login prompt! Any suggestions?

Not posting those errors makes it very hard to diagnose your problem. You can always add another user and try logging in with that username.

As root:
adduser <username>

Post your errors, hopefully someone that uses KDE can help.
