Hello.
After installing Knoppix 3.4 onto hard disk and setting up the network card i ran into this problem: if i reboot the computer it backgrounds eth0 looking for dhcp (basically it ignores the static ip settings); if i give it an /etc/init.d/networking restart it brings up the card correctly.
What could be the problem?
Thanks.
I'm experiencing the same thing....and it's a bit annoying.
I'm working on remastering 3.4 for the purpose of installing onto multiple PCs, and this one little glitch is the last real hurdle.
Anyone have any ideas what I can do on the remastered version to prevent this from occuring when installing to hard disk?

for workaround.
The problem came from knoppix-autoconfig....it's a bug, I believed.
This problem usually occurs to someone who use knoppix beginner or knoppix- like hdd installation. This type of installation will let knoppix autodetect your system everytime it boots and resetting lots of thing.
If you try Debian-like hdd installation, this problem might dissapear.
