HD install and data encryption

I'm taking some confidence with encrypting in Linux (Knoppix already owns necessary support, so I didn't even have to patch and rebuild kernel and/or tools), and I was wondering: would it be possible to update knoppix-installer in order to install Knoppix onto hard disk enabling root filesystem encryption at install time? Which steps would be needed to? Would it be worth?
