I've got a partial install of Knoppix-KDE3.1 on an NT SCSI RAID box. The install aborted, and the machine no longer boots properly.
It comes up to the boot: prompt. It attempts to load Linux, then aborts and ends up in a (very) limited shell.
What I'd like to do is take this completely off the machine - it never should have been installed there in the first place. But it's not clear how to do this.
Since this is NT, I can't run fdisk /mbr. I've tried running lilo -u from the CD (after having to jump various hoops) on all the drives, but it complains that it doesn't see a LILO signature anywhere.
I can boot into NT via the localboot option, or using a Smart Boot Manager (http://btmgr.sourceforge.net/) floppy, but those are just stopgap measures.
Any idea how to restore this box back to normal? :(
Thanks!
