Auto selecting keyboard

Hi people

I am making a remaster of Knoppix, and have one question.
Knoppix auto selects the keyboard layout?
If so, how can I make it detect other types of layouts? Knoppix comes (if I remember) tow layouts on KDE. The german and the US standard. How do I add another one there, to stay available to may remaster?

Console keyboard layout can be specified via the keyboard=xyz cheat code. X/KDE keyboard layout can be specified via the xkeyboard=abc cheat code. They both can also be selected via the lang=xy cheatcode, along with your locale. Have a look at the /etc/init.d/knoppix-autoconfig script to see how it all works.
