Hi all,

I try to run Knoppix 3.4 on my PC (AMD Athlon 800 MHz, 384 MB RAM, ATI 3D Rage IIC AGP, see lspci -i below).

Everything seems to run fine until start of X11. I see the yellow KDE background, but then the system freezes :-( I have to turn off my PC then. I have tried nearly all boot cheatcodes (failsafe, different screen resolutions, nodma, xserver=XF86_SVGA etc.), the system always hangs....

Booting into runlevel 2 (textmode) works ok.

So the problem seems to be the X configuration. Running X (KDE) with SUSE Linux on the same PC works....

Any ideas ? Thanks in advance ....

Hans-Peter
