View Full Version : HDD problem when installing Knoppix to HDD

im trying to install knoppix to my HD...i run "knoppix-installer" and when i attempt to partition my disk it says "Opened disk read-only - you have no permission to write" can some1 tell me why this is.... :?

Are you in a super-user console?

Use CTRL-ALT-F2 to switch to a console.

Try this way. Boot from cd. Don't mount any partition. Open konsole and run:
su
knoppix-installer

If that doesn't work. Boot cd with cheatcode: knoppix 2 that will get you to command line. Then run : cfdisk . Upon completing disk partition, reboot and continue with above.

If that doesn't work. Download partition magic. Create partition with it.
