won't start x

when I'm trying to boot the knoppix cd it hangs when it trying to start up x, the screen just goes blank, any sugestions?

I had this problem when I tried Knoppix for the first time.
Try this -
Insert your Knoppix CD in drive(I assume you have changed your BIOS settings so that your system will boot from cd !) and at the first boot prompt you see type 'FB800X600'.

If the 'fb800x600' doesn't work for you how about some system details? What cheat codes have you tried?
