I want to install explore2fs-1.00pre6.zip and I've already downloladed and tried certain things:

root@0[knoppix]# wget http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/explore2fs.htm explore2fs-1.00pre6.zip dpkg install explore2fs-1.00pre6.zip

That is what was done. Doesn't look right from the output.

explore2fs allows one to browse ext2/ext3 linux filesystems from windows - not something you install under linux, thus

Besides, even if it were made for linux, it still wouldn't install on a Read-only OS (The cd)
