Live disk won't boot

I have Knoppix 3.4 and cannot get it to boot. The boot goes just fine, seems to be recognizing all my hardware. When the woman's voice says 'initiated starup sequence (or whatever it is she says) my monitor goes into standby mode, the cd runs for about another 20 seconds, and then nothing. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

It sounds like it is using a video resolution/refresh rate that the monitor does not support. At the boot prompt where it says hit F2 or F3, try the following
knoppix screen=1024x768 xvrefresh=60
or
knoppix screen=800x600 xvrefresh=60
This will force knoppix to run at a different rate and will hopefull get around the monitor problrem.
