Hi Guys :D

i've got a little question 4 ya :/



i've installed Knoppix on mylocal hdd...

and now i want to configure the bootoptions of lilo (default setting is kernel 2.4)
but i want to load kernel 2.6 (without asking).


please help me ;D

change :
default= Linux2.6 **** what ever your label is.Look at label for kernel 2.6

You should edit this in /etc/lilo.conf and then execute "lilo"
I am not sure with filename but it is surely something like that.

FYI, my lilos (ONLY set up on partitions, not MBR!) like to find every darn OS in the system and list them in the bootup menu.

That gets mighty cluttered, since they need to be told what they can find, and what they should not.

Accordingly, I just go into each disrto's lilo.conf file and hash out the OSes I don't want to use...just set the Default to 2.6.7 and comment out all the other listings, and remove the timer from the prompt line above this. That way you won't even see the lilo splash screen/menu after running /sbin/lilo.conf -v...it just boots straight into the 2-penguin loadup screen.

I use G.A.G. for a bootloader, as it is much nicer to my MBR than Lilo or Grub; and that way I can boot XP, 98 or any of my currently-installed distros boot blocks at will.
