Unlike 3.4, Knoppix3.6 can't connect...

Hi :D
i just downloaded Knoppix 3.6 and i tried it on my computer at work. But it fails to connect to the internet.
And i found this very bizzare because i did not have (and still don't have) such a problem with Knoppix 3.4, the older version.
Knoppix 3.6 ( i repaet 3.6) finds my ethernet card (Realtek RTL8100C),
but it fails to find my externel DSL modem, which is made by Efficient Networks
and the model is SpeedStream 5200.
My ISP is Sympatico (Ontario, Canada) and it uses PPoE protocol.
Any help solving this puzzle will be appreciated.

Have you run network card config before adsl/pppoe config?

Yes i ran the network configuration ... with no luck.
Knoppix reciognize my PCI network or Ethernet) card, but it fails to recognize my [external] DSL modem.

After googling I found out that your isp(sympatico) is using their own acces manager.
Try use their own pppoe:
http://service.sympatico.ca/index.cfm?method=content.view&category_id=99&content_id=1138
