Hy. I'm new to knoppix and I was wondering if anyone colud guide me to install knoppix on hdd. What do I have to do to install it :?: Can it be installed in a FAT32 partition? If so, can it boot from a logical partition. What boot manager can I use(preferably not a linux bootmanager) because I also have Win Xp installed...Thank you in advance. :)

Having Xp, 2000 or any windoze isn't a problem. Linux boot manager ( lilo or grub ) won't kill your windoze. It writes only to mbr of your hardisk and won't touch your windoze. If anything wrong happen, it can easily be remove using fdisk /mbr or fixboot (on xp ).

You can install knoppix on fat32, and it's called poor's man hd install. But there is a limitation to it. Similar to running it from cd.

If you have extra hard disk space, I would suggest you to do normal hd installation.http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13781
