I am running Knoppix 3.6 from a CD, using my USB memory stick to hold my configuration settings.

When I restart Knoppix with the cheat code myconf=/dev/sda1 the configuration comes back OK but the clock in the tray is showing a time 5 hours in advance of my system time. Checking the configuration I appear to be in the right time zone.

I know this was a problem with the early releases of Knoppix 3.4 but I thought it was solved with the last 3.4 release, (which I never had).

Can anybody suggest a solution?

Adjust the time manually and resave.

How do I adjust the time manually and resave?

I went into KDE Control panel and it will not allow me to change the time.

Anyway, the time was right the first time I saved the configuration. Do you have any reason to think making it right again and resaving will alter the behaviour?

I have a feeling I have to adjust something in one of the configuration files - but which one and what to do?

Right click on the time itself --> adjust time and date and move the time to your setting. Might have to log out and back in for it to take effect.

Hopefully this will help.
Ok, the clock shows the wrong time.
Open a shell window as root.
Change to the /usr/bin/ directory.
Run the kcmshell clock like this.
.kcmshell clock <-enter key
Or from the root directory "/" type ./usr/bin/kcmshell clock <- enterkey
This should bring up the calendar and clock.
Now, you can change the Date and time.
