Knoppix 3.6 and Intel PRO/100 VE Onboard NIC

Hello,

My motherboard is using an Intel 865PE chipset with an
Intel PRO/100 VE Onboard NIC. Will Knoppix 3.6 detect
this adapter if booting the OS from the CD-ROM?
(Knoppix 2.8 did not detect it) ... thanks :)

I guess.
I have an onboard NIC and was detected corectly. I also have an old ATI AT-2500TX PCI from Allied Telesyn NIC and was recognized, even by Knoppix 3.3.
You can always try knoppix26 as boot command which will boot with kernel 2.6.8 which I'm pretty sure it will recognize your old NIC. :wink:
