Hi,

My system is Knoppix 3.6 with 2.6.7 kernel and LVM2. My /home
and /ust/local file systems are on logical volumes. The lvm
script is in /etc/init.d, with a link in rcS.d, S26lvm
(mountall has a greater number). At boot time, everything
stops; I have to type "modprobe dm-mod", <Ctrl-D>, and
everything is OK. What's wrong with my boot config.? Any
hint appreciated.

Try adding dm-mod to /etc/modules

Already added dm-mot to /etc/modules : it doesn't work!

Yes, indeed : dm-mod, of course...

OK then try adding modprobe dm-mod to /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh

BTW if you like you can simply use the Edit button instead of adding another post.

Only tomorrow I will have access to this computer, but, with /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh, there are also two knoppix specific files in /etc/init.d/ : aren't they involved in the boot process?

Well, adding "modprobe dm-mod" to /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh doesn't work :-(
It seems, the device is not found at fsck time.
