I am wondering if i can do this and how i would do it. I have a 6gb and 15gb hard drive both in nfts, the 15gb wiht windows 2000 installed. I would like to install knoppix so i could run it when i want to from my hard drive and still operate windows 2000 and boot wiht windows 2000. The 6gb drive would be preffered. Can someone help me please?

Should be a piece of cake.

If you don't have anything you need to save on the 6gb hard drive, just select it as the hard drive to install knoppix to when you run knoppix-installer. Theoretically lilo should be set up so that you can boot Windows or Knoppix. I ahev always installed lilo on the mbr...but some don't. My only concern for you is that my experience with the latest Knoppix build is less that satisfactory with the boot loader install. Make sure you make a boot floppy, just in case. If something screws up...at best you can use your Windows 2000 boot disk and run fixmbr to repair the windows boot loader.

A possible alternative, if you're new to linux.
