Time and date setup doesn't respond to password

Please advise as to how to correct the password in Knoppix such as to allow trhe setting of the date and time through admin mode.

Perhaps the persistent home and myconfig setups prevemt the set-up of date and time, setting them as fixed on the desktop?

Finally responded to passwd change so th date and time are OK now.
