When standing in the login screeen, after a while the screen goes black and you have to touch the keyboard or mouse to get it to wake up.
What is this feature called and how do I turn it off?
I dont have any screen savers installed besides the Blank screen one but I have changed the color and disabled it so it does seem to be that one being activated at the logon screen.
Any hints?

It may be that your power management is just shutting down the screen. try booting noapm & noapci to see if it still does it.

Thats a good idea!
Could look like somthing like that. I already check that it was not the screen
itself, and checked the computer bios, but I didnt try to write the
noapci/noamp to lilo.conf and boot with it.
Crossing my fingers.
Thanks

I still can't get rid of this annoying black screen when standing at the login.
People thinks its not powered on and turn it off.....
I have tried putting options into lilo, fiddled with the bios, unloaded apmd and
tried xset -dmps. Its still goes black after some time.
If I cant get the black screen to go away, could I get a screen saver instead?
Somebody must have tried this.
Pretty please :)

Putting
sudo xset -dpms
sudo xset s off
in .Xsession for my default user seemed to fix the problem.
