Do you HAVE to also download the md5 and ASC files that accompany the iso image on those download servers? If I don't absolutely need them, i won't download them.

Not absolutely necessary to dl these but you might want to anyway. The md5 is a checksum to confirm that your iso is correct.

Right, It can save alot of trouble.

You need something like http://md5summer.com/ to use. It extremly useful.
