Hello, I am newbie when it comes to linux. But i am fed up with all the crash and freeze of programme in XP so i try to find other OS that suit my Old pc (755 hrz AMD, 192 ram, 32 mb videocard) And asking a friend that is using mac told me that i could try knoppix and after using the knoppix cd that i downloaded i feel i really want to use it. So i done some reading and i did a HD Installment. But in the process i deleted all my partition to make the new one for LINUX. A big one 81g for LINUX 83 and a swap of 1 g 82. I am glad doing that but now i am stuck. all the favorite programme that i am used to like ACD and WINamp. are lost. I wonder is there a way to use exe extension software in LINUX? And if so How can i Download those? and Install? Plss help me out on this one. Thanks very much for you guys time.
Terry
Knoppix comes with wine just to do that. But not all application can use wine.
There are plenty of ACD and winamp clone for linux out there.

Never heard of ACD. What is it anyway? I did find this (http://www.acdlabs.com/clients/pr_linux0804.html). Dunno if that's what you meant. You can always use XMMS or Beep-media-player (my preference) to listen to streaming audio and AFAIK anything else that winamp can play. You may find thisLinux-windows equivalents (http://linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-lin-soft-en/table.shtml#41) link useful.
I think, he meant ACDSee:
