Ok, the last couple boots to knoppix(HD install), i have had a few problems. Actually, only one problem that most likely has a simple solution. But the one problem can lead to other problems.

Ok, i like long, drawn out explanations, But so far that has earned me NOTHING in this forum to speak of. So i am going to put this a strait as i can.

Knoppix(hd install) is booting and bringing me to my usual UNIX(and apparently linux) logon prompt:

jack logon: root
passwd:
root@jack]

Or therabout. That is exactly how it is on my UNIX comp, i think it was a little different on this comp, but you get the idea. The problem is, i cannot run any of my knoppix applications from the shell.

2 questions pertaining to this:
1: is there a way to stop knoppix from doing this? if so, how? What is the reason it does this instead of going into KDE?
2: How do i get into KDE(or the like) from the shell once already logged in, OR how do i run KDE applications from the shell?

Once again, i say, any AND ALL help is GREATLY appreciated!
