Hi,

Is there a shortcut available for installing lirc on Knoppix 3.6?
I'm running the 2.4.27 kernel and would prefer not to have to go through the process of re-compiling it just to install lirc.

When will lirc be a standard component of Knoppix???

Kanotix (http://kanotix.com) has it.

Since you mention kanotix:
- does it run well on epia M motherboards?
- does it support ivtv (2.6 kernel)?

I really wouldn't have any idea. Your best bet would be to ask in #kanotix and/or on the Kanotix forum. It does however use the 2.6.8.1 kernel but there is a 2.4.26 kernel available for after installation to hdd. Kano is generally quite happy to provide support for new hardware if possible. Just ask. :)
