Sometime during the copying of files the program starts giving read errors on files, but continues with the install anyhow.

Is there a reason for this?

I'm using knoppix 3.6... tried in both DVD and CD-RW drives, same problem either way.

Can I just copy the whole cd while it's unmounted to a blank ext2 partition, then somehow config the boot sector myself, and adjust my SuSE bootloader accordinly for knoppix?

SuSE 9.1 personal doesn't have any compiling stuff, and it's such a pain in the ass with all the bullshit dependencies, I want to just use knoppix and mod that for my own purposes... though I did just download the actual debian ISO images

ANYWAY, PLEASE HELP....AHHH AHH AHH.... :) heh heh

-thanks :)

Have you tried installing with the nodma cheatcode?
Also you might want to try the testdisk cheat and check the md5sum.

Also if knoppix doesn't install try kanotix (http://kanotix.com/info/index.php) , it's better for a hdinstall anyway.
