i have been trying to install knoppix on my hard drive, and every time i run the installation, i get a boatload of cp and cloop errors and an operating system that freezes when i try to boot it. i ran with testcd and the integrity of the cd was fine. i also tried running with dma and nodma, and got cp and cloop errors in both instances. i tried searching through the forums, and the only solutions i saw were running with the dma cheat code or testing the cd. any suggestions?

Daryl,

I'm not a Linux expert (also starting it out). If you're using knoppix 3.6 try the command knoppix24 at the boot (boot: knoppix24) or Failsafe (with no harwdare checking at all).

Hope it helps!

Do you mean knoppix26?
knoppix runs the 2.4 kernel and
knoppix26 runs the 2.6 kernel

running knoppix26 gets rid of the cloop errors, but i still get a boatload of cp input/output errors. any further suggestions?
