help please

hi ive been having some problems with ndiswrapper it keeps crashing when it finds the wireless card.



i have continued reading the man files

i have also figured out how to stop it from crashing :oops:

it seems knoppix can not handle drivers run from the /desktop as well as cd roms.

so i have got it succesfully working with out a crash.
im focussing on using my linksys wmp11 v4.0 and getting it to work. it worked first time so i think it should be able to work how ever when i get to find wlan0 with ndiswrapper i config the network card first (i dont know if thats good or bad to do but you get to do iwconfig after that but not vice versa)
i config my wireless card to default settings normaly other then the essid, channel, key, the mode, how ever after configing everything, i take a look at iwconfig and i find that wlan0 has no essid and nothing i told it is there.
im unable to scan and list ap's with iwlist scanning and iwlist ap
i can not set the essid in the terminal as root for some reason.

can anyone help me please

here is some more info if this can help anyone help me.

now this is after i have got everything up and running.
i have activated the card with ifconfig wlan0 up then moved on to networkcard config which works. then moved onto iwconfig as you can see the first part is the results of iwconfig >
the second is the results of a scan for ap which works. the third is ifconfig. as you can see my problem is connecting to a ap. i do not understand what type of mode my card has to be in. ive tryed all differnt combinations. how can i force my computer to connect to a ap?
