I'm a linux newb...and i was wondering if just by running wine with the cd if it makes any changes to my harddrive....I tried using wine but couldn't get much to work and i use windows xp pro...i almost got winamp to work but i didn't have the default skin so it locked that up. But yea i was just wondering if it makes any changes to your harddrive while just running with the cd.. thanks!

If you set wine to use a fake windows install and then use the defualt options, it won't change your harddrive.

BTW not all programs work. The list that do is growing all the time, but a good rule of thumb is, the less the program needs to directly connect to hardware, the better.
