Sound card problems

:evil: I have a yamaha XG sound card the sound card works on the cd but when i install to the hard drive the card fails to work Any sugestions? :evil:

Do you know which module is designed for the card?

yes but it doent not load during boot

hmm..

open a shell

sudo passwd (enter something)

su root
modprobe -lv (that module)

(lower case L for list all modules that could fit, v for verbose output)

see if anything matches.

Open a root console window and type sndconfig then enter and see if the sound configuration utility can detect the card.
